Why define purchasing criteria

If you define the search criteria, you will be able to more easily pre-select the properties offered on the market. This is even more important if you are considering a purchase with another person, for example your partner. The criteria depend, among other things, on your personal situation. A young person does not have the same needs as an older person or a family. The following criteria should be considered first:

Location

  • Proximity to your place of work and places of interest
  • Public transport (bus, tram, railway, airplane)
  • Shops and leisure activities
  • Nurseries, schools, university
  • Environment and neighbourhood

The property

  • Apartment on the garden level or on the attic or upstairs with balcony
  • Detached, semi-detached or townhouse
  • Modern or classic style
  • New or old or even to be renovated
  • Minimum number of rooms
  • Minimum number of bedrooms
  • Living area
  • Parking spaces
  • Garden or balcony

Finances

  • Available equity capital
  • Pension fund or 3rd pillar
  • Define the budget (simulation on the internet, already contact your banker)
